Medical Office Assistant With Veterinary Speciality Diploma

The Medical Office Assistant with Veterinary Speciality diploma program at Academy of Learning Career College provides students with the base knowledge, skills, and work experience to become employable in any medical setting. The Veterinary Administrative Assistant performs many of the same or similar duties as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA). Veterinary patients have the same basic body systems and require similar treatment for injuries and illnesses as do humans. By adding the Veterinary Administrative Assistant speciality modules to the core Medical Office Assistant program, graduates have wider employment opportunities by choosing to work in a Veterinary setting or a medical clinic.

Admissions Requirements

  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • 19 years of age or older (varies, depending on province-specific ministry requirements)
  • Grade 12 or equivalent, or Mature Student Status with successful completion of CAST testing
  • Completion of Wonderlic SLE admission test with minimum score of 18

Admissions Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent or Mature Student Status.

  • Courses are open to any applicant who possesses a good command of the English language and is able to follow instructions.
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency.
  • An admissions interview will be administered to determine if the applicant has the required interest, motivation, and entry-level skills to take this program.
  • Full-time students must attend the required hours per week as per the course schedule and may do so at times convenient to them.
